Did you know that Cellular and PCS antennas can be added to an AM broadcast tower?

Consider the advantages of already existing tower and the minimal zoning problems.

Are you a Cellular or PCS Carrier, or a Tower Company that runs away from AM broadcast stations??

The wireless carrier wins by having an existing tower to locate its antennas on with minimal zoning problems.
The radio stations wins by generating revenue and by having a grounded tower that is better lightning protection.

There are two ways to add antennas to an AM Broadcast Tower:

                                             1.  By the use of isocouplers, with one in each line.

                                             2.  By the use of a folded unipole antenna.

Now that is a great idea,  but what in the world is a folded unipole?

The folded unipole is really only a detuning skirt that is added to the AM broadcast tower.  The skirt  becomes the stations antenna.  The tower is grounded, which allows it to be climbed, and also allows antennas and feedlines to be connected to the tower with only normal hardware.  It is a process that is not new; it has been done for many years with very good results.

                                                                          Everybody Wins!

How do AM Antennas Work?

AM Coordination Services can assist with the process of helping locate AM broadcast tower sites, and adding a folded unipole to a tower.  It is better to do this with a non-directional broadcast station, however, it can also be done with a directional broadcast station.  Please contact us if you need further information on the process.
