Butch McBride has over
thirty years of broadcast and wireless engineering experience. For many
years he worked overseas where he was responsible for the construction,
operation, and maintenance of two high power shortwave broadcast
facilities. Additionally, he worked as Chief Engineer for other broadcast
facilities, including AM, FM and TV. He also has extensive knowledge on
the operation and maintenance of AM directional broadcast stations,
including field strength measurements. He has been certified a
Professional Broadcast Engineer by the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
He has filed
numerous applications with the Federal Communications Commission for a
number of new and modified broadcast facilities; thus, his qualifications
are a matter of record with the FCC.
For the past four years he has been
exclusively involved in the consulting of Wireless Carriers and Tower
Owners on the regulatory issues of AM Coordination. Two of the past four
years was with an Arlington, Virginia, based consulting firm, and the last
two years as the Principal of his own firm. During this four-year period
he has coordinated over 100 sites, including sites for American Tower, AAT
Communications, ATT Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Centennial
Communications, Crown Castle, Nextel Communications, and Verizon Wireless.
In the last two years he
has designed and developed his own detuning skirt to be used when AM
Coordination requires detuning. There are over twenty of these skirts
around the country that are currently in operation.
